I teach US History, World History, and Success 101 at Desert Hot Springs High School. The 2015-16 school year is my first year at DHSHS. Before this, I was at Painted Hills MS for two years. I taught 8th grade US History and Language Arts at PHMS. Before PHMS, I taught 9th grade Language Arts at South Medford High School in Medford, Oregon. I also coached track & field at South Medford HS. I was also a substitute for four years before that.
I was born in Los Angeles. I grew up in Norwalk, California. I moved to the Coachella Valley in the summer of 2013. I've also lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Medford, Oregon.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from California State University Northridge in 2004. After that, I worked in television news for a couple of years. I didn't enjoy it, so I went back to school to become a teacher. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Education from Southern Oregon University in 2008. I was a substitute teacher for a few years before I got my first full-time classroom job.
Things I enjoy: baseball, basketball, triathlon: running, cycling, and swimming, track & field, video games, and good food.
